OUR WORK

Facciocose is a performance and design studio based in London and Eindhoven.

We work at the intersection between Performance, Design, and Science. Our practice explores contemporary issues around health, queer governance, urbanism and ethics of care. Through critical research, embodiment methodologies, storytelling, live streams, participatory design methods, and performance production, our mission is to foster active audience participation in matters of social justice, care and health-governance.

Performing Medicine

A participatory performance that challenges the hierarchical and theatrical relations of conventional medicine by drawing attention to the narrative dynamics of medical props, rituals, and languages of authority.

Tarot of water

A participatory performance delving into the exploration of planetary water, multi-species relationships and hydrofeminism, drawing inspiration from the Rider Waite Tarot.

Waste care

What if we began to "care" for our waste? Could waste "care" for us in return?

A socially engaged project involving marginalized communities to explore the bio-potential of their household waste and its practical applications.

Building dialogue

A role game in which players immerse themselves in a provocative scenario and are guided to question the role of design as a tool for the creation of alternative solutions to climate emergency and social injustice.

“The____Library” Symposium

The Symposium invited an audience of designers, curators and reserachers to explore the dynamics of patriarchal power structures and decolonisation of archival and documentation systems.

Contagious care

The Symposium panel will invite conversations around how we can understand microbial bodies, and explore embodied and more-than-human systems of health.

Walking the map

A community-engaged project focused on addressing the challenges faced by elderly individuals dealing with mental health issues, particularly those at risk of marginalisation and homelessness.

Book publication

“Performing Medicine” employs performance studies methodology to investigate the emergence of DIY medicine and the significance of health-governance.

NO-Time REVERSIBLE

No-Time Reversible is a piece by Jose Martinez that explores the theme of ‘dissipation’: “everything that dissipates from the system to which it belongs returns to its initial stages in a natural way, making each one of the possibilities unique.” Facciocose has played in the video performance presented at the “Embrace your inner chaos” exhibition.

PLEASE DO NOT FORGET YOUR BELONGING

PLEASE DO NOT FORGET YOUR BELONGING was commissioned by Sally Souraya in 2019 for Autospace Festival in Beijing. Drawing from Sally’s personal experience in migration and departure, we devised a physical theatre performance that incorporated Sally’s experience about loss and migration.
